Music Magazine

I have researched a number of different music magazines to find the similar conventions between them but also to try and find what music magazine genre I would like to use.....

The rolling stones magazine is one my favourite magazines I have researched due to its lay out and how it doesn't have a set genre. The idea of not having a set genre is appealing but also seems quite diffcult. By not having a set genre I have a wider demographic to aim for but also with not having a set genre I can not just aim it at a set genre and show how I have used my magazine to attract my demographic.

The Q magazine also caught my attention by not having a set genre. I also liked the simple lay out and easy colour scheme. I also really liked how the make up on the cover star fitted in with the colour scheme.

I'm really intrested in creating a magazine simular to Q, NME and Rolling Stones. I know this may be diffcult to achieve as I wouldn't have a set genre but I'm willing to take a challenge.

Music Magazine Research

On Friday the 7th of December I chose to create a music magazine for my media coursework. I choose the music magazine as I have had past experience with creating films in my creative and media diploma course last year. Although it was enjoyable, it is also extremely stressful and I would like to try something new. Now that I have decided to create a magazine, I need to do further research into how music magazines attract their demographic but also the conventions. I also need to decided on a genre of music, preferable one that I'm interested in. Below I have attached some of my research......
